Above: Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies & Orlando Health placed posters in lobby and cafeteria.  They promoted breastfeeding awareness throughout the hospital by holding both a poster contest and essay contest.  Everyone got involved from housekeeping to business offices.

When our Breastfeeding Committee began planning
our celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2008 we
discovered the renewal of our hospital’s Magnet
status was occurring almost at the same time. So
when Governor Charlie Crist proclaimed August
Breastfeeding Month that was it- a celebration that
could magnetize our Mother/Baby unit and show how
we encourage our international patient population to
“Go for the Gold”.
