Breastfeeding Friendly Employer Award


The Florida Breastfeeding Friendly Employer Recognition Program is an award program to recognize businesses who are providing support in the workplace to their breastfeeding employees.  Businesses will be evaluated based on a set of criteria for three levels of breastfeeding support: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Businesses that meet the criteria outlined in the above brochure and application will be recognized with a certificate and recognition on this web site. Applications can be emailed, mailed, faxed or by the online application form above.


The Business Case for Breastfeeding is a comprehensive program designed to educate employers about the value of supporting breastfeeding employees in the workplace. The program highlights how such support contributes to the success of the entire business. Developed by the Business Group’s Center for Prevention and Health Services in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health and the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Maternal and Child Health Bureau. FBC developed and began promoting the Breastfeeding Friendly Employers in Florida recognition award in 2010.The Business Case for Breastfeeding is a comprehensive program designed to educate employers about the value of supporting breastfeeding employees in the workplace. Congratulations to the efforts being made for Florida's public school employed breastfeeding mothers to have pumping break times and a private place to do so. Orange and Leon Counties have district wide breastfeeding employee support policies.  See news article on Flagler High School accommodations for their school breastfeeding employers.
